Design steps of checking fixture
1. Pre-digestion, clear part requirements (Very important).
Digested data include: part drawings, GD&T drawings, checking fixture pattern books, checking datum books, project A tables, fixture design task books, samples, digital models/3D, 3D of surrounding parts, etc.
The information to be obtained is: locating datum position and size, detection features, measurement position and tolerance, assembly relationship and assembly requirements of parts, the technological process of the part (which must be understood when designing the semi-finished fixture), special requirements of customers such as KPC point, simulation surface of surrounding parts, etc.
2. According to the part requirements, determine the structure type of the fixture and the placement method of the base plate of the fixture. (Determine which of the three coordinate planes parallel to the body coordinate system or design according to the user coordinate system)
3. According to the customer's requirements and testing habits, determine the measurement method, and form the concept plan of fixture design, or the fixture scheme. (Note that in the initial stage of development, some features may require full-scale inspection and energy-based inspection of the part, but they are not needed in mass production, and must be considered when designing the fixture.)
4. Structural design and three-dimensional modeling. (Pay attention to the processing technology of parts and the convenience of debugging, especially pay attention to the NC machining feasibility of the fixture body, the open state of that movable part must be in the base plate area)
5. Draw the assembly drawing and parts drawing. (The general assembly drawing must reflect the positioning datum, the detection method of detection features required by GD&T drawing, the matching size, the total size, the parts materials and the heat treatment requirements, etc.)
